A fan of Davido expresses his disappointment following the emergence of singer Tems because the winner of the Greatest African Music Performer class on the 67th Grammy Awards.
The award ceremony sparked controversy amongst Nigerian music followers after Davido misplaced out within the class, which some believed he deserved to win.
As a substitute, the Grammy organisers awarded the prize to Tems, a call that has led to debates on social media.
One heartbroken fan, recognized as @dombillionz on TikTok, took to the platform to voice his frustration, accusing the organisers of enjoying politics with the awards.
In his emotional rant, he argued that Davido’s expertise and contributions to the music trade made him the extra deserving winner.
“See ehh, Grammy e be like say una dey play politics with this factor. Davido suppose win Grammy this yr. This man is nice. Una wan inform us say Tems higher go Davido? She sabi sing go Davido? Abi she sabi baff up go Davido? We no come belief this una award once more. We no belief am. This factor is being politicised,” he lamented.
