Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani has cleared all excellent tuition charges amounting to $247,235.84 (N407,937,750) owed to overseas universities by college students sponsored by the state authorities to review overseas.
The Govt Secretary, Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, Professor Yahya Ibrahim who disclosed this, defined that the beneficiaries included those that studied Medication and Nursing and had been left stranded overseas by the earlier administration.
Prof. Ibrahim who disclosed this on Saturday, mentioned the stranded college students included those that had been ‘’unable to graduate, renew visas, or entry their educational data.’’
Giving a breakdown of the settled tuition charges, Ibrahim said that College of Debrecen, Hungary was paid $51,400.00, which is equal to N84,810,000.00.
He additional disclosed that the Dubai-based College of Wollongong was paid $13,827.08, amounting to N22,814,550.00.
Prof. Ibrahim added that the Medical College of Havana obtained $164,010.00, which was equal to N270, 616, 500.00 whereas Kampala Worldwide College (KIU) and Islamic College In Uganda (IUIU), Uganda obtained $17, 998.00 or N29,696,700.00.
