The Nationwide Veterinary Analysis Institute (NVRI), Vom has dismissed allegations of nepotism, procurement irregularities and marginalisation of employees as contained in an open letter addressed to President Bola Tinubu.
The letter, purportedly authored by leaders of the Plateau Youth Council, Berom Youth Moulders and Berom Intelligentsia, accused NVRI of breaching the federal character precept in its 2022 recruitment, sidelining host communities, and planning a lopsided hiring of over 200 employees.
In a rebuttal letter made accessible to newsmen in Jos, the NVRI administration described the claims as “falsehoods and misinformation,” stressing that recruitment was based mostly on permitted vacancies, specialised expertise and federal character pointers, with authorisation from related businesses.
“At no level throughout the previous 5 years has religion, tribe, ethnicity decided the composition of committees or undertaking groups nor was it elevated as an administrative template.
Moderately, an inclusive and equitable strategy has been adopted in managing the varied personnel pool of the Institute with equity, gender inclusiveness and competence driving decision-making.
