The inspector-general of police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, will communicate on the affect of ‘Cattle Theft in West Africa’ on the ongoing twenty seventh INTERPOL African regional convention in South Africa.
The convention, which started on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, will present a platform to strengthen worldwide cooperation in opposition to transnational crime and improve international legislation enforcement collaboration.
The twenty seventh INTERPOL African Regional Convention drew greater than 200 police chiefs and safety leaders from 56 international locations, together with senior legislation enforcement officers and safety consultants throughout Africa and past.
Nigeria Police Drive (NPF) PRO, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in an announcement on Wednesday, stated the IGP will, in his presentation, handle discussions on modern safety challenges, intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and sensible methods for cross-border policing.
Adejobi famous that the IGP’s presentation, titled “Cattle Theft in West Africa: A Conduit for Terrorism and CBRNE Threats”, would spotlight the broader safety implications of organised livestock theft within the area.
The IGP is anticipated to deal with the connection between “transnational organised crime, terrorism financing, and rising chemical, organic, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) threats inside the sub-region.”
In the meantime, the IGP can also be scheduled to satisfy with the INTERPOL president, Main Basic Naser Alraisi, and the INTERPOL secretary normal, Mr Valdecy Urquiza, on the sideline of the convention to debate partnerships, amongst others
