News Central Television has received the African Economic Merit Award (AEMA) Black Prize in New York, USA, in recognition of its commitment to truthful journalism and efforts to empower young audiences with accurate and unbiased news.
The award was presented to the station’s managing director and editor-in-chief, Kayode Akintemi and director of Commercial and Communications, Rosemary Egabor-Afolahan.
Akintemi described the recognition as an affirmation of the station’s mission to report fearlessly, while Egabor-Afolahan said the honour reflected the hard work and passion of the News Central team.
According to the media company, the prize highlights its role in promoting high-quality reporting and shaping informed communities across Africa and beyond.
