Omoluwabi Progressives, an offshoot of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has described the discharge of native authorities funds to alleged unlawful political functionaries in Osun State as a brazen assault on democracy, the rule of regulation, and the sanctity of the Nigerian structure.
It subsequently warned the chairmen and councillors involved to not contact the cash paid into their unlawful accounts, as doing so would quantity to felony actions that may be revisited now or later.
The group, at a press convention addressed by its chairman, Alhaji Azzes Issa Adesiji, in Osogbo on Monday, accused the federal authorities of perpetrating fascism by ravenous duly elected native authorities executives within the state of their statutory funds and diverting them into unlawful accounts allegedly opened within the title of chairmen and councillors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adesiyi contended that the Osun native authorities election of October 15, 2022, which introduced them in, was performed in complete disregard of the Electoral Act, including {that a} Federal Excessive Courtroom has already nullified these elections.
