Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have arrested one of many suspected automotive snatchers within the Choba axis of Port Harcourt, seen in a video that went viral on social media.
The command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, issued a press release in Port Harcourt yesterday figuring out the suspect as Iruo Younger, a male of 42 years.
Iringe-Koko, who said that Younger was arrested at his hideout within the Ikoku axis of the Rivers State capital, mentioned the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime, offering detailed data on his involvement within the crime.
The assertion reads: “The Rivers State Police Command has made one other exceptional achievement in a swift operation and investigation into the viral video circulating on social media, depicting an armed theft incident at Choba space of Port Harcourt on October 15, 2025.
“The incident which occurred at about 1500hrs concerned the snatching of a Toyota Avalon automotive at gunpoint.
“By intelligence-led policing and technical help, operatives of the command have apprehended one of many suspects, recognized as Iruo Younger M. ‘m’ aged 42 years, at his hideout in Ikoku, Port Harcourt.
“Throughout interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime, offering detailed details about his involvement within the theft incident.
“The suspect is at present in police custody and an in-depth investigation has been launched to apprehend the opposite fleeing suspects, recuperate the stolen car and retrieve the firearms used within the fee of the crime.”
In the meantime, the commissioner of police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has recommended the operatives concerned within the operation for his or her diligence and swift response, which led to the suspect’s arrest.
