The Police on Monday, dragged a 30-year-old lady, Mary Towolawi, earlier than a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Courtroom in Lagos, for allegedly stealing N4.8 million.
The defendant, a thrift collector, is standing trial on expenses bordering on stealing and conversion.
She, nevertheless, pleaded not responsible to the costs.
The prosecutor, ASP. Edet Ekpo instructed the courtroom that the defendant dedicated the offences between January 2022 and Octoner 2025, at LAPO Microfinance {Bank}, in Badagry, Lagos.
He alleged that whereas working as a thrift collector for the {bank}, the defendant stole cash saved beneath her care, and transformed similar to her private use.
“She was arrested and handed over to police for prosecution,” he stated.
The offences contravenes the provisions of part 287 of the Felony Regulation of Lagos State 2015.
The Chief Justice of the Peace, Mr A J Aina, granted the defendant bail within the sum N500,000 with two sureties within the like sum.
