Deputy Senate president, Senator Barau Jibrin, has paid the withheld entitlements of a former chairman of Kano Municipal native authorities space, Fa’izu Alfindiki, following actions allegedly taken by the Kano State authorities.
In a press release issued to journalists yesterday in Abuja, the particular adviser to Barau on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, disclosed that his principal introduced a cheque of N7 million to the previous council chief on Tuesday night in Abuja.
The cheque was handed over on the Nationwide Meeting, the place Senator Barau condemned the denial of Alfindiki’s entitlements, describing it as unjust and undemocratic.
“It’s unlucky that he has been denied his official entitlements just because he stood firmly with the APC and the folks of our state. That is unsuitable, unjust, and a transparent breach of freedom of speech and affiliation,” Senator Barau stated.
He added that constructive criticism stays important to democratic governance.
“Constructive criticism, like that of Fa’izu Alfindiki, is the lubricant of democracy. With out it, this method of presidency won’t flourish,” stated Barau, who can also be the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament.
In his response, Alfindiki expressed gratitude to the Deputy President of the Senate, stating that he had no regrets about talking the reality to the Kano State Authorities.
“I need to sincerely thank His Excellency, the Deputy President of the Senate and our incoming Governor, In sha Allah, for this nice alternative and honour. This singular act as soon as once more proves that the APC is a celebration to face with and a platform worthy of our dedication and sacrifice,” he stated.
Alfindiki famous that he was assured from the onset that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would help him.
“From the second this incident occurred, I used to be assured that the APC would stand by me.
Right this moment, that confidence has been justified. The Deputy President of the Senate has stood up for me, and for that, I’m deeply grateful,” he added.
