A fireplace outbreak on Tuesday night razed a piece of the Bolade Area Market in Oshodi, Lagos, destroying 10 clothes supplies retailers.
The Lagos State Hearth and Rescue Service which confirmed the incident mentioned it obtained a misery name at about 5:50pm on Tuesday and instantly deployed firefighting groups, who arrived on the scene inside 5 minutes.
The Controller Basic of the company, Mrs Margaret Adeseye, mentioned the response groups had been drawn from Bolade, Ilupeju, Ikeja and Alausa fireplace stations to make sure the incident was swiftly introduced below management.
Based on her, the inferno affected 5 40-foot container retailers organized in two rows, making a complete of 10 retailers, all stocked with bales of textile supplies.
“The affected space is primarily used for the storage and sale of clothes supplies. The fireplace has been confined to the affected part and efficiently curtailed. The state of affairs is firmly below management, and there’s no danger of the hearth spreading to different elements of the market,” Adeseye mentioned.
She assured members of the general public that ample measures had been taken to safeguard lives and adjoining properties, including that investigation could be performed to find out the reason for the hearth.
“An investigation into the reason for the hearth can be performed sooner or later, and additional updates can be offered as mandatory,” she added.
