Lack Of Father Figure Led Me To Drugs — Actor Bucci Franklin

Popular Nollywood actor, Bucci Franklin, has shared how growing up without a father led him to drug addiction.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Franklin described his childhood as “messy”. He revealed that his father abandoned the family, leaving his mother to raise him all by herself.

The actor explained that the pain of not having a father made him turn to drugs to cope. “I was a hot mess as a child. My dad abandoned me. My mom raised me alone, and I turned to drugs,” he said during the interview.

Franklin credited his mother for helping him beat the addiction and supporting him throughout his life.

He noted that his success in the movie industry today is thanks to her hard work.

He also spoke about the difficulties of single parenting, stating that it is important for children, especially boys, to have a father figure in their lives.
