‘Power Comes From God,’ Pate Tells Bauchi Governorship Aspirants

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate, on Tuesday reminded All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in Bauchi State that power comes from God.

He stated that only one aspirant would emerge victorious in the forthcoming party primaries and urged all contestants to support whoever emerges as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The minister also tasked the aspirants and the APC leadership with ensuring rancour-free and fair primary elections.

Pate explained that power belongs to God, who gives it to whomever He wishes and takes it away from whomever He wills. He urged every aspirant to accept defeat in the primaries if necessary.

Apart from individual contests for elective office and the outcome of winning or losing, the minister said the ultimate goal of every APC member and supporter should be the party’s victory at all levels.

“No person can bestow leadership or power on any individual, regardless of his position in society, because such authority belongs only to Almighty Allah,” Pate said.

He also called on the people of Bauchi State to work together to ensure the socio-economic, political and infrastructural development of the state.

In a video message circulated to APC members and residents of the state on Tuesday, the minister assured aspirants of his support for whoever emerges as the party’s candidate in the primaries ahead of the 2027 elections.

He also urged APC members, supporters and the electorate to work towards ensuring victory for all APC candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the 2027 polls.

Pate further appealed to youths, whom he described as the vanguard of democracy, to ensure peaceful and rancour-free primary elections.

“Let us all work together to ensure that only credible candidates emerge from the primary elections and that the party records victory in all elective positions in the 2027 general elections,” the minister concluded.
