ADC Postpones Presidential, Governorship Screenings to Monday, May 18, 2026

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has postponed its presidential and governorship screening exercise earlier scheduled to hold this weekend to Monday, May 18, 2026.

The party disclosed this in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

According to the statement, the adjustment also affects the screening arrangements for some federal lawmaker aspirants from parts of Northern Nigeria affected by security challenges.

The ADC stated that the screening of the affected aspirants would now be conducted in Abuja to ensure safety and smooth coordination of the exercise.

“All affected aspirants will be duly contacted with the updated schedules and necessary details,” the statement said.

The party expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the postponement and appealed for understanding and cooperation from aspirants and stakeholders.

The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent and credible screening process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
