Banky W: I Met Wizkid Already Grinding

Olubankole Wellington, popularly known as ‘Banky W’, is a Nigerian-American Singer who recently came out to debunk the allegation that he met singer Wizkid on Twitter or any social media platform.

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as ‘Wizkid’, is also a Nigerian singer and songwriter and was already actively building his music career within Nigeria’s music industry circles.

Banky W said Wizkid was already “grinding” when they first crossed paths, stressing that his work rate and development were visible even before mainstream recognition or online buzz followed.

Wizkid was then signed to Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E.), the label co-founded by Banky W, where he released early projects that helped him gain wider national attention.

He further reinforced the idea that Wizkid’s early progress was driven more by steady groundwork than by social media discovery.
