An aspirant for Kaduna Central Senatorial District seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Yerima Shettima, has withdrawn from the race, declaring support for the party’s candidates ahead of 2027.
Shettima said the decision was not borne out of fear, weakness, or cowardice, but rather from his unwavering commitment to party unity, discipline, and collective progress and appeals to listen to the voice of reasoning.
Addressing journalists in Kaduna, on Sunday, Shettima advocated for genuine reconciliation among all aggrieved members to strengthen party and ensure lasting peace, cohesion, and progress within the ranks.
According to him, “After wide consultations and deep reflection, I have decided to respect the decision of our great party regarding the senatorial contest”
“As a loyal and committed party man, I remain steadfast in my support for the APC and reaffirm my readiness to continue contributing my quota towards the victory of our great party at all levels in the forthcoming elections”
“I hereby formally announce my withdrawal from the Kaduna Central Senatorial race in good spirit and allign accordingly with party decisions” Shettima stated.
