APC Senate Primary: Ensure Transparency Or Risk Disunity, Kwara South Stakeholders Tell APC

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara South have called for a transparent and credible senatorial primary election in the district.

They also declared their support for the former Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Dr. Muheebat Dankaka, as their preferred senatorial candidate.

The stakeholders said the integrity of the primary election scheduled to be held today would determine the strength and unity of the party ahead of the general elections.

Addressing newsmen on behalf of the stakeholders, Engr. Usman Alabi stressed that the process must be free from manipulation and avoidable mistakes capable of causing an internal crisis within the party.

“Our appeal today is simple, sincere, and patriotic: let the right things be done,” they said.

The stakeholders noted that Kwara South occupies a strategic position in the political structure of the state, having 83 out of the 193 wards in Kwara State and seven out of the 16 local government areas.

They said all stakeholders involved in the conduct of the primaries must ensure fairness and transparency in line with democratic principles and the guidelines of the APC.

They endorsed Dankaka for the senatorial ticket, describing her as “trusted and tested,” with a track record of service and commitment to the people of Kwara South.

“We collectively, as members of Kwara South Senatorial District, raise our voices to make it known that Dr. Muheebat Adenike Dankaka is the preferred candidate for the Senate in our district,” the group stated.

They further praised her performance during her tenure at the Federal Character Commission, saying she demonstrated uncommon commitment to the development and interests of Kwara South.
