Atu Wins APC Ticket For Enugu North/South Federal Constituency

The incumbent member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 House of Representatives election after recording a landslide victory in the party’s primary.

Atu defeated his challenger in the contest, which was conducted across the 26 electoral wards in the constituency on Saturday, with thousands of APC members participating in the exercise across Enugu North and Enugu South Local Government Areas.

Announcing the results on Saturday evening, the party’s returning officer, Dr Okwudiri Ekwe, declared that Atu polled 30,396 votes to defeat Hon. Ajuluchukwu Ozor Eze, who secured 383 votes.

Ekwe noted that a total of 30,779 votes were cast out of 52,850 registered APC members in the constituency.

In his acceptance speech, Atu thanked party leaders, delegates, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, describing the victory as a call to greater service.

He pledged to continue prioritising effective legislative representation, empowerment programmes, youth engagement, and community development across the constituency.

The lawmaker also assured party faithful that he would continue working closely with stakeholders to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atu commended the leadership styles of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah, saying both leaders had set an outstanding standard for governance and party administration.
