Two Kebbi aspirants seeking the APC tickets for the Kebbi Central and Kebbi South Senatorial Districts, Kabiru Sani Giant and Bala Ibn Na’Allah, have withdrawn from the contest 24 hours before the commencement of the Senate primary elections in Kebbi State.
Our correspondent reports that the two aspirants withdrew their interests in letters sent to the APC party offices dated Sunday, May 17, 2026.
In their letters, the duo were said to have withdrawn from the contest following the intervention of Governor Nasir Idris.
At the affirmation venue on Monday, Senator Muhammed Adamu Aleiro, who is currently serving in the National Assembly representing Kebbi Central Senatorial District, was affirmed as the APC candidate for the 2027 general elections.
Similarly, Senator Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi, representing Kebbi North Senatorial District in the Senate, also secured the APC ticket after being affirmed at the affirmation venue in Argungu.
The affirmation exercise was witnessed by Governor Nasir Idris, APC State Chairman Abubakar Kana Zuru, Chairman of the Affirmation Committee Sa’idu Nasamu Dakingari, and officials from the APC national headquarters.
