Why I Rejected $1m Mavin Record Offer – Blaqbonez

Popular rapper Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, has explained why he turned down a huge contract offer to join Mavin Records, even though he was allegedly offered $1 million.

The artist made the disclosure in a brief statement published via his official handle on the social media platform X.

According to Blaqbonez, the main reason he refused to sign with the famous record label owned by Don Jazzy is that he does not like being highly active on social media or constantly talking to fans online.

“Need to get this off my chest before Chanel drops, the reason I didn’t sign to Mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is cos i don’t really like posting, I prefer 1 tweet per year than engaging my fans, I’m too big for that, I’m mysterious,” the rapper wrote.

Blaqbonez, who is currently signed to Chocolate City, hinted that his quiet online presence and desire to remain mysterious would not fit the busy social media marketing style big music labels use to promote their artists.
