Eid-el-Kabir: Alia Salutes Tinubu, Calls For Unity, Prayers For Nigeria

Benue State governor, Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Muslim faithful in Benue State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging renewed commitment to peace, unity and national development.

In his goodwill message, Alia called on the Muslim Ummah to uphold the values of love, sacrifice, tolerance and unity, describing them as essential pillars for peaceful coexistence and sustainable development in both the state and the country.

He said the lessons of sacrifice, justice, fairness, equity and peaceful coexistence, which are central to the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, should continue to guide collective actions in the interest of national progress.

In a statement issued by the governor’s Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Chief Solomon Iorpev, the governor stressed the importance of mutual respect among adherents of all faiths, while urging Muslims to use the festive period for sober reflection and prayers for peace, unity and progress in Benue State and Nigeria.

Alia also called for sustained prayers and support for President Bola Tinubu and other leaders at all levels of government, noting that effective governance requires collective goodwill and national solidarity.

In a separate statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, Alia described Eid-el-Adha as a “blessed and glorious festival” through which Muslims demonstrate devotion and worship to God.

He commended the Muslim community in the state for their continued support for his administration, adding that the peaceful coexistence of people of different faiths in Benue remains a source of pride and a reflection of shared values of tolerance and unity.

The governor assured residents that his administration would continue to prioritise the welfare and interests of all citizens, pledging accelerated and sustainable development across the state.
