Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham, has warned TikTok users against sharing fake reports about celebrities’ deaths, describing the trend as cruel and irresponsible.
In a video posted on Snapchat, Toyin Abraham said she would not accept appeals for anyone she believes was responsible for the posts.
She said the content has continued to spread online without any response from her so far.
The actress said: “You on TikTok, posting my pictures and putting RIP, if I catch you, I won’t listen to anyone begging on your behalf, go and delete and stop, everyone is seeing now, if I catch you, I won’t listen. I shall not die”.
Toyin has urged social media users to verify information before posting, stressing the need for responsible sharing.
