Liverpool Football Club have made the decision to part company with head coach Arne Slot with immediate effect following a turbulent and underwhelming 2025-26 campaign, according to reports from football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The decision comes after a challenging season that saw the club drop down the standings, ultimately finishing a disappointing fifth place in the Premier League table and only narrowly securing a spot in the Champions League.
Although Slot had built up credit by guiding Liverpool to the Premier League title during his debut season last year, the fans were growingly tired of the team’s recent performances.
The frustrations were further compounded by the club’s initial decision to stand by Slot rather than pursue other elite options, such as Xabi Alonso who now manages Chelsea FC.
With Slot now officially departing, outgoing Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has been heavily tipped to take over the managerial seat at Anfield.
