VBM Congratulates Obi On NDC Ticket, Says It’s Step Toward Better Nigeria

The Village Boys Movement (VBM) has congratulated Mr. Peter Obi on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general election, describing the development as a significant step toward building a better Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the village headmaster of the movement, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, the group said Obi’s emergence reflected his continued commitment to good governance, accountability, competence, and national development.

According to the VBM, the former presidential candidate has continued to inspire hope among Nigerians seeking a country anchored on justice, security, productivity, and shared prosperity.

The movement also commended the leadership and delegates of the NDC for what it described as a credible process that produced a candidate widely respected for integrity, prudence, and public service record.

“His emergence has once again rekindled hope among millions of Nigerians who yearn for a nation founded on justice, productivity, security, and shared prosperity,” the statement read.

The group expressed confidence in Obi’s ability to provide leadership capable of driving sustainable growth and national renewal, insisting he possesses the character and competence required to govern Africa’s most populous nation.

While celebrating the development, the movement urged its members, state coordinators, and supporters nationwide to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

It stressed that electoral success would depend on sustained engagement with citizens at the community level rather than activities limited to conferences or social media platforms.

“The journey to victory in 2027 will not be won in conference halls or on social media alone. It will be won through grassroots mobilisation, voter education, community engagement, and sustained interaction with ordinary Nigerians,” the statement said.

The organisation called on supporters to return to villages, wards, and polling units to strengthen its structures and expand outreach across the country.

VBM reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the vision of a better Nigeria and pledged to work with other progressive groups to translate citizens’ aspirations into electoral success in 2027.
