Canadian rapper Drake has placed a massive bet of $770,000 (over N1 billion) on Canada to defeat South Africa in their FIFA World Cup Round of 32 clash.
The hip-hop star disclosed the wager on social media, explaining that his motivation came after a private online interaction with popular South African DJ Black Coffee. “Black Coffee was chirping in the DM. I had to raise my stakes,” Drake wrote.
The Grammy-winning artist shared details of the bet online, which shows a total stake of $770,000. If Canada defeats South Africa in the knockout match scheduled to take place today, the rapper stands to secure a potential payout of $1,001,000.
