All 7 North-West Governors Join First Lady Remi Tinubu At NCFBP Launch In Jigawa

All seven governors of of North-West States, including Kano, Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna, and Jigawa, on Monday, were in Hadejia, Jigawa State, for the official launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme (NCFBP) by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The event, which also aattracted cabinet ministers, traditional rulers and other senior government officials, was aimed at strengthening efforts to combat food insecurity and improve nutrition among vulnerable households, particularly pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under the age of six.

Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, described the initiative as a timely intervention that complements the efforts of state governments to tackle malnutrition and food insecurity across the country.

He reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s commitment to implementing policies and programmes that promote food security, improve healthcare delivery and enhance the welfare of the people, especially the most vulnerable communities.

The National Community Food Bank Programme, launched under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), was designed to provide nutritious food through Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to vulnerable groups as part of efforts to reduce child malnutrition and hunger nationwide.

The seven governors earlier received the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the Dutse International Airport for the historic state visit to Hadejia.
