Gospel Singer Lekan Remilekun Speaks on Father’s 26-Year Disappearance

Nigerian gospel musician Lekan Remilekun has shared the emotional impact of his father’s long-term disappearance, noting that the situation has brought new challenges as his own children begin to ask questions about their grandfather.

Speaking during an interview on the Talk to B podcast, the singer stated that his father, Remilekun Amos, went missing in November 2000 after travelling to Akure, Ondo State, for a church ministration. He was never seen again, and his whereabouts remain unknown.

Remilekun stated that the prolonged uncertainty has been deeply painful for his family. He referenced a traditional Yoruba proverb to explain that while losing a loved one is difficult, not knowing whether a missing relative is alive or dead presents an even heavier emotional burden.

The musician noted that the decades-long unresolved disappearance continues to affect his family as a new generation seeks answers about their family history.
