Governor Dauda Lawal has pledged to deepen ongoing reforms, improve public service delivery, strengthen institutional capacity, and deliver measurable outcomes for the people of Zamfara State.
The governor revealed this on the sidelines of the Presidential Launch of the NG-CARES Additional Financing (AF), SOLID and HOPE Programmes (HOPE-GOV, HOPE-EDU & HOPE-PHC) held recently at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.
The governor was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada.
Mr Lawal said the launch underscores the Federal Government’s commitment, in collaboration with the World Bank and State Governments, to advancing governance reforms and strengthening primary healthcare.
He said the commitment would also go a long way in improving basic education, expanding social protection, and enhancing livelihoods for vulnerable households across Nigeria.
“For Zamfara State, these programmes present a significant opportunity to deepen ongoing reforms, improve public service delivery, strengthen institutional capacity, and deliver measurable outcomes for our people,” he said.
He said the Zamfara State Government, under the leadership of Governor Lawal, remains fully committed to working closely with the Federal Government, the World Bank, and our development partners to ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives in line with the administration’s Rescue Agenda.
“Together, we will continue to build stronger institutions, empower our communities, and create sustainable pathways for inclusive growth and shared prosperity across Zamfara State,” he said.
At the event, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu unveiled a $3.05 billion World Bank-backed social protection and human capital development portfolio at the State House in Abuja.
The flagship programmes aim to boost livelihoods, strengthen healthcare, and improve basic education nationwide.
The NG-CARES AF (Additional Financing) is a $1.25 billion financing expansion to support smallholder farmers, scale up social transfers, and boost food security for vulnerable citizens.
SOLID (Solutions for Internally Displaced and Host Communities) is a $300 million initiative focused on restoring livelihoods, building climate-resilient infrastructure, and providing essential services for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and their host communities.
