APC Stalwart Hails Tinubu, Kwara Governor Over Establishment Of New Army Divisions

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Kwara State, Dr Afeez Abolore has hailed President Bola Tinubu over the establishment of new four Army Divisions, including the Army 9 Division with the headquarters in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Abolore who spoke during an interview with LEADERSHIP in Ilorin described the approval for the establishment of the new Army Divisions as a historic milestone.

He attributed the making of Ilorin as Army Divisional headquarters to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s persistent advocacy, strategic engagements, and resolute focus on regional peace and stability.

Abolore said the landmark achievement stands as a direct result of Governor AbdulRazaq’s visionary leadership and proactive security governance.

According to him, Governor AbdulRazaq’s constructive engagement with the highest levels of national leadership continued to yield tangible dividends, reinforcing public safety and creating a secure climate for sustained socio-economic growth across Kwara State and the north central region.

He emphasised that siting the 9 Division jeadquarters in Ilorin, with operational oversight covering Kwara and Niger states, will significantly optimize command and control, shorten response times to security threats, and fortify the overall defense architecture against banditry, kidnapping, and cross-border offenses.

He thanked President Tinubu for approving the force structure expansion and placing Kwara State at the core of the nation’s strategic defense posture.

Abolore commended the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for delivering decisive, structural solutions to national security, noting that including Ilorin in the initial rollout highlights federal trust in the leadership and stability of Kwara State.

He called on all residents and strategic stakeholders to maintain maximum support for the Governor AbdulRazaq administration and the Armed Forces as implementation progresses toward full operational readiness.
