NCDMB Empowers 50 Kaduna Youths With Digital Installation Skills

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with Divine Communications Integration Services Ltd, has commenced a two-week digital skills training programme to empower 50 youths in Kaduna State with expertise in the installation and maintenance of DSTV, CCTV cameras and Starlink satellite internet systems.

The programme, which was flagged off in Kaduna, is aimed at equipping participants with practical technical skills that will enhance their employability and enable them to establish businesses in the growing digital and security technology sector.

According to the organisers, the initiative forms part of NCDMB’s efforts to deepen Nigerian content by building local capacity and expanding the pool of skilled technical professionals across the country.

Over the next two weeks, participants will undergo intensive hands-on training in DSTV installation and repairs, covering dish alignment, decoder configuration, fault diagnosis and after-sales support.

They will also receive practical instruction in CCTV camera installation, including site surveys, cabling, analogue and IP camera setup, remote monitoring and maintenance, as well as the installation, alignment, network configuration and troubleshooting of Starlink satellite internet systems.

The training will be facilitated by certified instructors from Divine Communications Integration Services Ltd using a curriculum comprising 70 per cent practical sessions and 30 per cent classroom instruction to ensure participants acquire job-ready skills.

At the end of the programme, beneficiaries will receive certificates jointly issued by NCDMB and OFY Multi Dynamic Ltd, along with starter packs and cash support to enable them begin offering professional installation and maintenance services to homes, schools, businesses and other organisations.

Officials of Divine Communications Integration Services Ltd urged the participants to remain disciplined, safety-conscious and take full advantage of the opportunity to become self-employed and employers of labour.

The beneficiaries, drawn from across Kaduna State, expressed appreciation to NCDMB and its partner for the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that would create sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The programme is expected to conclude on August 7, 2026, with practical assessments and the presentation of certificates to successful participants.
