Runtown Rejects N319m Court Order In Record Label Dispute

Nigerian singer Douglas Jack Agu, popularly known as Runtown, has rejected a recent court ruling that ordered him to pay N319 million to his former record label, Eric Many Limited.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court had ruled that the singer’s 2016 contract with the label remained valid and directed him to pay damages for breach of contract.

Reacting to the judgment on social media, Runtown dismissed the claims, accusing the label’s founder, Okwudili Umenyiora, of using misleading court orders.

The singer maintained that he would not grant the label access to his music catalogue or control over his assets, despite the court’s decision.
