Southern Kaduna Group Hails Gov. Sani Over Choice Of Christian Running Mate

The Southern Kaduna Youths and Students Forum (SKYSFOM), under the leadership of Kazachiang Edward Markus, has commended Governor Uba Sani for his decision to pick a Christian as his running mate ahead of the 2027 polls.

The group said Governor Sani’s decision represented a strong message of unity, fairness, and inclusiveness in a diverse society like Kaduna State.

In a statement issued by the group’s Public Relations Officer, Bulus Isaac Gado, it said leadership is not about promoting division along religious or ethnic lines; rather, it is about building bridges, respecting diversity, and ensuring that every citizen feels represented and valued.

The statement said that Governor Sani would be remembered in history as a man who uprooted the seeds of dissent sown by the previous administration in the state.

According to the group, Governor Sani is rightly stepping out of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s shadow and paving his way into history as posterity will be fair unto him.

“SKYSFOM believes that the choice of a Christian running mate demonstrates a commitment to balancing interests and strengthening the bond among the various communities that make up Kaduna State.

It is a step that recognises the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect between all faiths and peoples.

“As an organisation committed to the progress, peace, and development of Southern Kaduna and Kaduna State at large, we appreciate the Governor’s decision and encourage all citizens to continue supporting initiatives that promote unity, stability, and inclusive governance”

“We call on youths and students across Kaduna State to embrace the spirit of togetherness and look beyond sentiments that divide us. The future of our state depends on our collective ability to work together, regardless of religious or ethnic differences,” the statement said.
