500 Bauchi Education Officers Trained In Digital Literacy

The Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), in partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), has trained over 500 education officers on digital literacy to strengthen leadership and improve teaching in the state’s basic education sector.

The two-day workshop, held at the UBEC Model Smart School in Bauchi yesterday, brought together education secretaries, planning, research and statistics officers, and desk officers. It focused on “Digital Literacy for School and Development Leaders: Building 21st Century Skills for Effective Instruction.”

At the opening session, SUBEB’s executive chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba, reaffirmed the board’s commitment to continuous capacity development for education personnel to enhance service delivery across the state.

He said that Governor Bala Mohammed administration had continued to accord top priority to the education sector, noting that sustained investment had led to significant improvements in school enrolment, construction of classrooms, provision of teaching and learning materials and recruitment of qualified teachers.

The SUBEB chairman also commended UBEC for its continued support to Bauchi State’s education sector, describing the partnership as instrumental to improving the quality of basic education.

He urged parents, traditional rulers, and community leaders to complement government efforts by protecting school facilities and encourage greater school enrollment to achieve the state’s educational goals.
