‎Portable Face Charles Okafor In ‘Chaos In The Ring’ Boxing Fight Today

The highly anticipated “Chaos in the Ring” celebrity boxing bouts return to the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos and indigenous singer Portable faces Charles Okafor, popularly known as Igwe 2pac, among other fights.

‎‎The boxing bouts to hold today, Friday, July 31, 2026, are organised by ‎Balmoral Group in partnership with ‎EV Motors, who have committed ‎two brand-new electric vehicles as prizes for the winners of the event’s two headline celebrity boxing bouts.

‎The organisers, who made the announcement at an official press conference, unveiled the vehicles and reaffirmed a shared commitment to investing in Nigerian talent and expanding opportunities within the country’s growing sports and entertainment ecosystem.

‎EV Motors stated that the winners of the highly anticipated Portable vs. Charles Okocha showdown and the Mr Real vs. Idowest clash will each drive home a brand-new electric vehicle, raising the stakes for what is already shaping up to be the biggest edition of Chaos in the Ring boxing bout.

‎Chairman of EV Motors, Dr Ned Okonkwo, described the partnership as a collaboration between two Nigerian brands committed to creating ‎opportunities at home. “This partnership isn’t just for now. It’s a long-term relationship between two Nigerian ‎brands that believe in the Nigerian dream.”

‎‎Emphasising the company’s belief in homegrown talent, he added: “We don’t believe in Japa. We believe in transforming Japa into Japada by creating ‎opportunities here at home. Nigeria has some of the greatest talents in the world, and boxing is one of the strongest examples of that.”

‎‎A passionate supporter of the sport, Dr Okonkwo noted that Nigerian fighters have consistently excelled on the global stage and expressed confidence that the country can become a destination for world-class boxing events. This isn’t simply about giving away cars. It’s about changing lives, rewarding excellence

‎and showing young Nigerians that they can achieve their dreams here. We want to continue supporting platforms that celebrate Nigerian talent and create lasting impact.” IMG 20260729 WA0002 1

‎‎Founder of Chaos in the Ring and Group Managing Director of Balmoral Group, Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, said the partnership reflects the platform’s long-term vision of transforming African boxing through innovation, entertainment and global visibility.

‎‎“Talent is the greatest export Nigeria has. Africa has never lacked talent. What we’ve lacked is platform”. Since its inception, Chaos in the Ring has combined professional boxing with entertainment ‎to create an event that resonates far beyond the ring. Previous editions have generated over 2 billion video views and 4.2 billion digital impressions, while earning global distribution through DAZN, one of the world’s leading sports streaming platforms.

‎‎Dr. Adamu explained that the platform was created not only to entertain audiences but to improve the lives and careers of African fighters. When we started, many Nigerian boxers were earning less than ₦50,000 to step into the ring. Today, some of our fighters are earning life-changing purses, signing international contracts and competing on the global stage. That’s the impact of giving talent the right ‎platform.”

‎‎He also highlighted recent success stories, including Nigerian fighters securing international opportunities and increased global attention on African boxing. “Our dream has always been to reverse the narrative, so that international athletes begin looking to ‎Africa as a destination for opportunity. We’re already seeing that happen.”

‎As anticipation builds for today, July 31, fans can expect an unforgettable night of elite boxing, celebrity rivalries, music, entertainment and career-defining moments, with two electric vehicles waiting for the night’s biggest winners.

‎According to the organizers, the waves-making event within and outside Nigeria comes up live on Friday, July 31, 2026. At the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
