Nigerian singer Tems has made history as the first woman to serve as Executive Music Producer and Curator for a major Hollywood soundtrack, leading the music project for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming fantasy film, Children of Blood and Bone.
Director Gina Prince-Bythewood confirmed the development during an event at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, revealing that Tems was chosen after her music heavily influenced the film’s writing process.
In addition to executive producing, Tems will contribute three original songs to the soundtrack.
Afrobeats star Burna Boy joins the project as executive music consultant, while the broader soundtrack features top Nigerian artists including Fireboy DML, BNXN, and Ayra Starr, who will also make her Hollywood acting debut in the movie.
Children of Blood and Bone is scheduled for theatrical release on January 15, 2027.
