A$AP Rocky has made it clear he has no interest in settling his long-running feud with Drake in a celebrity boxing match, saying he has already moved on from the drama.
During an appearance on The Jason Lee Show, the Harlem rapper laughed off the suggestion of facing Drake in the ring. While joking that he would rather fight “bare knuckle” than wear boxing gloves, Rocky insisted he has no interest in taking part in a celebrity bout.
“He don’t wanna see me. … Bare knuckle, like the Irish. We ain’t doin’ all that celebrity boxing …”, he said.
Rocky also responded to Drake’s recent lyrics on Burning Bridges, in which the Canadian rapper questioned why Rihanna did not publicly promote Rocky’s latest album, Don’t Be Dumb.
Calling the criticism “stupid”, Rocky argued that if Rihanna had promoted the project before its release, critics would have claimed its success was only because of her support.
“What single she supposed to be posting? She posted my album… after it went No. 1,” he said.
The rapper added that he sees no reason to continue engaging in the public back-and-forth, saying both artists should have moved on by now.
“The internet antics and smear campaigns and all that, we see right through that. That’s why I just be like, ‘I ain’t responding to that,’”* he added.
Rocky has previously suggested that tensions between the pair began after he started dating Rihanna in 2020. In an earlier interview, he said he believed Drake began taking subtle shots at him despite the two once having a friendly relationship and touring together.
Neither Drake nor Rihanna has publicly responded to Rocky’s latest comments.
