CSOs Pass Vote Of Confidence In Tinubu

The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance in Nigeria has passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu and the director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr Ajayi Oluwatosin, for their efforts to promote national security and good governance.

The coalition stated this during a rally, where it urged Nigerians to allow the government to implement its policies without disruption.

Addressing the participants, the national chairman of Nigeria Citizens Watch for Good Governance, Collins Eshiofeh, said the coalition was committed to supporting responsible leadership, opposing criminality and promoting constructive civic engagement.

“We gather here today not as troublemakers but as the true conscience of this nation.

“Our mission is simple. We stand with good leadership, we stand against criminality and we stand against anyone who hides behind the noble name of activism to tear this country apart,” he said.

The group commended the President for approving a new national minimum wage, saying the outcome of the negotiations was an indication of a government willing to respond to the concerns of Nigerian workers.

It urged organised labour and other stakeholders to support the implementation of the new wage structure, stressing the need to avoid actions that could disrupt the process.

“H”s Renewed Hope Agenda has brought bold reforms. At the same time, the approval of a new national minimum wage after painstaking negotiations shows a President who listens to the cries of the Nigerian worker and acts with compassion.

“W” say, allow Mr President to implement the minimum wage that he approved. No distraction, no disruption.”

The group also commended the DSS Director-General, saying that the agency, under his leadership, is professional, proactive, and committed to addressing security threats.

According to the coalition, the DSS has intensified efforts against terrorism, banditry and other activities capable of undermining national stability. “W” are equally proud of the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Mr Ajayi Oluwatosin,” Shiofeh said.
