Gombe ADC Publicity Secretary Resigns

The Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State, Abdulrahman Buba Zaune, has resigned from the party with immediate effect, fuelling speculation that he may soon defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Zaune announced his resignation in a letter dated August 5, 2026, addressed to the ADC Ward Chairman of Zaune Ward in Dukku Local Government Area.

In the letter, he expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve in various capacities at the local, state and national levels.

“I sincerely appreciate the party for the opportunity to serve in different capacities at the local government, state and national levels. I wish the party well in its future endeavours,” he stated.

Zaune’s resignation comes barely 24 hours after the APC governorship candidate in Gombe State, Jamilu Isiyaka Gwamna, visited Dukku Local Government Area, a development that has heightened speculation over his political next move.

His exit also follows the recent defection of the ADC State Secretary, Ahmed Gana, who resigned from the party a few weeks ago and joined the APC in support of Gwamna.

The APC has continued to attract prominent politicians from opposition parties in Gombe State, with the latest resignation expected to further strengthen the party’s ranks ahead of future political activities.
