Singer Cynthia Morgan has expressed support for Peter Okoye as his public dispute with his brothers, Jude and Paul Okoye, continues to generate reactions.
In a post shared on Instagram, the singer prayed for Peter’s “healing and salvation” while responding to claims by some social media users that his emotions had become “destructive.”
Drawing from her own experience in the music industry, Cynthia said many artistes are conditioned to prioritise their careers above every other aspect of their lives, often suppressing emotions stemming from love, grief, abuse and intense pressure.
According to her, when artistes reach their emotional limit, they may appear destructive because they can no longer continue pretending everything is fine.
She added that professional therapy or an opportunity to openly express their feelings is often necessary before they can regain a sense of normalcy.
Cynthia also reflected on the experiences of older-generation musicians, saying many built their public image around an air of mystery, making it difficult for fans to understand the personal struggles behind the scenes.
Her comments come amid the ongoing family dispute involving the former P-Square members, which has continued to draw widespread public attention.
