Anne Hathaway has responded to social media users questioning whether her baby bump is real after the actress showed off her pregnancy look at the premiere of her latest film.

The 43-year-old actress, who is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, addressed the speculation on Monday, August 10, through an Instagram post documenting her preparations for the red carpet of The End of Oak Street.

Sharing footage from the event, Hathaway appeared to poke fun at the online claims with a brief but pointed caption: “Fake hair, real bump 😘 ✌️🦖🔥☀️🦕😅.”

Her response came after photographs from Sunday’s Los Angeles premiere prompted some social media users to question the authenticity of her pregnancy.

Hathaway had revealed her bare bump while wearing a silk crop top with low-rise jeans, a look that quickly circulated online. Some commenters claimed the bump appeared artificial, while others speculated that body makeup had been used.

Rather than engage with the criticism directly, the actress appeared to brush off the comments while also encouraging fans to enjoy the premiere’s festivities.

Hathaway announced her pregnancy in June with an Instagram video in which she smiled while cradling her stomach before running out of frame.

The actress and Shulman are already parents to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6. Their third child will join the family as Hathaway continues promoting The End of Oak Street.
