Igbo Community Endorses Gov Idris’ Second-term Bid

The Eze Igbo of Kebbi State, Chief Emeka Okafor, says he had mobilised Igbo to provide block votes for Governor Nasir Idris to come back in 2027 due to his outstanding performance in the first term in office.
Okafor said over 5,000 Igbo have obtained the voter cards to ensure the governor’s re-election next year.

The monarch who doubles as the chairman of Other Tribes Council of Chiefs, as well as the Dan-Jikan Gwandu, told newsmen at Badariya area in Birnin Kebbi that the Igbo society and other non-indigenes had pledged their loyalty to the APC-led administration at the federal and state levels.
He said Governor Idris had shown great concern for his community, stressing that the Igbo would not betray him.

The ruler said they had benefitted from the government’s palliatives, political appointments and financial assistance to individuals and the community as a whole.

He added that Igbo are a very humble, industrious and promising people. “One can see in the apprenticeship structure how businesspeople develop with low incomes,” he said.

Okafor, who is also the chief executive officer of KARFI Engineering Nigeria Limited, called on Governor Idris to grant him and other businesspeople an audience to provide the government with useful information and advice on tackling security challenges across the state.
