Tupac Murder Suspect Keefe D Reportedly ‘Doing Pretty Good’ as Trial Begins

Duane “Keefe D” Davis is reportedly remaining calm as his long-awaited trial over the 1996 killing of rapper Tupac Shakur gets underway in Las Vegas.

Davis, 64, pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and appeared in court on Monday, August 10, as jury selection began. Prosecutors accuse him of helping organise the shooting and providing the firearm used in the attack, although they allege that another person pulled the trigger.

Sources cited by TMZ said Davis is not particularly nervous about the possibility of spending the rest of his life behind bars if convicted. Having previously spent time in prison, he is reportedly familiar with incarceration but recognises that his age could make another lengthy sentence more difficult.

Davis has remained in custody at the Clark County Detention Centre since his 2023 arrest. Authorities had previously questioned him about the killing, while he had also spoken publicly about his alleged involvement over the years.

His family reportedly believes Davis’ repeated discussions of the case contributed to his current situation, describing him as someone who exaggerated his involvement.

Despite the potential sentence, Davis reportedly believes there are weaknesses in the prosecution’s case and remains hopeful that he could eventually avoid spending the rest of his life in prison.
