Osun Election: BVAS Failure Delays Voting In Ede North

Voting has yet to commence at Ward 1, Unit 9 in Ede North Local Government Area of Osun State following a reported malfunction of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).

The technical issue has prevented electoral officials from commencing voter accreditation at the polling unit, leaving residents who arrived early to cast their ballots waiting.

Voters were seen waiting for the problem to be resolved before the exercise could begin, while officials reportedly worked to get the BVAS device functioning.

The development comes as voters across Osun State participate in the governorship election to elect the next governor of the state.

Accreditation through the BVAS is required before voters can proceed to cast their ballots, making the resolution of the technical problem crucial to the commencement of voting at the affected unit.

There was no immediate indication of how long the delay would last or whether a replacement device would be provided.
