Cross River APC Launches Group To Mobilise Grassroots Support For Tinubu

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has launched a 30-man campaign committee, named “Cross River Arise for Prince Otu/Peter Odey”, to woo voters for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State.

The inauguration took place at Ascot Event Centre in Calabar and drew party stakeholders from the the 18 local government areas of the state.

Director general DG of the Support Group and commissioner of Local Government Affairs Chief Felix Idem stated that the group is formed to expand APC’s base at the grassroots and ensure massive recruitment of new members across polling units, wards, and workplaces.

He urged the support group to add value to the party’s electoral fortunes, urging members to focus on winning every polling unit and take the message of the Tinubu and Otu administrations to the grassroots.

“You are powerful in your polling unit. If you are powerful, win your polling unit. Win all, not some,” Idem charged.

Idem stressed that political relevance would be measured by performance at the unit level, not by titles and assured that the party leadership would support the committee if members remain committed to door-to-door engagements and aggressive mobilization for both the President and the state Governor.

In his remarks Cross River APC state party Chairman, Chris Etta, lauded President Tinubu for his intervention on the state’s oil well dispute and financial challenges.

Etta charged  “Arise” group, which he said comprises 3,200 APC support groups in the state, that Cross River owes Tinubu loyalty.  “We have no option as CrossRiverians. He is the only president from OBJ to Jonathan to Buhari who has given us a listening ear on our oil wells and bankruptcy issue,” Etta stated.

Etta urged  the support group members to take the campaign to every nooks and crannies of the state to canvassed for votes for Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu.

“We in Cross River have found a party and a man who has given us hope of actualising our oil well,” he said.

Party leaders expressed optimism that the new group would help APC consolidate its hold and deliver overwhelming votes for President Tinubu and Governor Otu in 2027.
