Aminu Yusuf: NPC Finance Department Mourns Late Chairman

The Finance and Accounts Department of the National Population Commission (NPC) has mourned the death of the Commission’s Chairman, Dr Aminu Yusuf (Talban Wushishi), describing him as a distinguished leader whose contributions would leave an enduring legacy.

In a tribute signed by the Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs Zainab Agbeje, on behalf of the department’s staff, the late chairman was described as a visionary leader who demonstrated wisdom, courage and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of his duties.

The department said Yusuf’s leadership was marked by dedication, purpose and commitment to excellence, adding that his impact went beyond the positions he held.

“Beyond the positions he held, Dr Aminu Yusuf will be remembered for the impact of his leadership, the people he inspired, and the legacy of service he leaves behind,” the tribute stated.

The department described his passing as a profound loss to those who had the opportunity to know, work with and learn from him, noting that his departure had created a void that would be difficult to fill.

It added that although his death had brought grief, his contributions to the Commission and the people he influenced would continue to be remembered.

The Finance and Accounts Department prayed Almighty Allah to forgive Yusuf’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds, widen and illuminate his grave and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.

It also prayed for strength, patience and fortitude for his family, colleagues, associates and others mourning his death.

The NPC chairman died in Abuja on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the age of 66 after a brief illness, according to an official statement by the Commission.
