Bandits Kill 3, Injure 5, Abduct Farmers’ Leader In Kano

Three people were killed and five others injured after suspected bandits attacked Chiromawa community in Garun Malam Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting a prominent farmers’ leader, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa.

The attack occurred at about 11pm on Saturday when the gunmen reportedly invaded the community and stormed Nadabo’s residence, opening fire on residents.

The chairman of Garun Malam Local Government Area, Alhaji Aminu Salisu Kadawa, confirmed the incident on Sunday, saying the injured victims had been taken to hospital for treatment.

Kadawa said security personnel had been mobilised to pursue the attackers following the raid.

However, residents of Chiromawa said on their social media platforms that Nadabo was rescued on Sunday morning in a joint operation involving soldiers and local vigilantes.

Nadabo, who owns Chiromawa Petroleum Station, holds the traditional title of Sarkin Noman Kano, a position associated with the leadership and representation of farmers in the state.

His rescue brought relief to residents, while security operatives continued efforts to track down those responsible for the attack.
