At just 14 years old, Ovie, an Urhobo scholar from Isiokolo in Agbon Kingdom, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, and a student of Graceland International School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has achieved a record that would be remarkable at any age. His most remarkable achievement came in July 2026 at the International STEM Mathematics Olympiad in Rome, Italy, where he earned World Champion status in Mathematics, emerging as the top performer worldwide in the Grade 11 category among competitors representing 54 nations. His outstanding performance also earned him a Gold Medal in Coding through Codementum (placing third overall) and a Silver Medal in CodeCombat Coding. This extraordinary feat represents the pinnacle of a sustained record of international distinction.

Ovie’s global achievements began years earlier. At the Barcelona iSTEM Contest in Spain in July 2025, while in Grade 10, he secured second position in Mathematics and won a Gold Medal in Coding among more than 800 contestants from 36 countries, competing alongside students from leading nations including the United States, China, Germany and Canada.

At the STEAM Ahead Competition in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2024, among 1,782 participants from 30 countries and territories, Ovie demonstrated remarkable versatility. He won a VIJSO Gold Award in Science, an IJMO Silver Medal in Mathematics and an IJCO Bronze Award in Cybersecurity—making him the only African participant to win medals across all three tracks.

His distinction continued at the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) in June 2024, where he won a Bronze Medal in Mathematics among 2,231 contestants from 32 nations, emerging as the only African medallist in his category. Earlier, at the MISE Mathematics Camp in Accra, Ghana, in January 2024, he received the Exceptional Performance Award for Grade 9.

His intellectual breadth is further demonstrated by a sustained record of distinctions in the prestigious University of Waterloo Canadian Mathematics Contests, including the Canadian Intermediate Mathematics Contest, Pascal Contest, Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest, Fermat Contest and Hypatia Contest. He emerged first in Nigeria at the STAN Science Competition in Abuja in 2024, won first position in the Scholastic Mathematics Competition in Rivers State, earned a Gold Medal in the National Mathematics Olympiad in 2023, and secured a Silver Medal in the Mathematics Association of Nigeria contest.
