The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Katsina State, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, has thanked supporters and residents of the state for their prayers and messages of concern following his recent surgery at a foreign hospital.

Kaita, who underwent an orthopedic procedure, said the operation was successful and expressed optimism that he would soon return to his activities.

“I am particularly touched by your goodwill and other encouraging messages for my quick recovery.

“I wish to assure you that the orthopedic procedure went very smoothly and, in the way I responded to treatment, In Shaa Allah, I will be up and running soon,” he said.

The ADC governorship candidate also expressed appreciation to the party for giving him the opportunity to fly its governorship flag in Katsina State.

He commended other ADC candidates across various elective positions for their efforts towards improving the standard of living of residents of the state.

Kaita also praised the operators of his campaign office and the Katsina State chapter of the ADC for sustaining the party’s structures across the state.

He said he remained confident that the ADC would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 governorship election.

“As we move closer to the official kickoff of the governorship and State House of Assembly campaigns, which marks the beginning of full campaigns in the country, I remain confident that the ADC, which is the only opposition party with full structure in place, will defeat the incumbent APC government in the 2027 election,” he said.

Meanwhile, other ADC candidates in the state have continued preparations ahead of the commencement of the campaigns.

The statement was signed by Abubakar Ahmed, spokesman of the ABK Gubernatorial Campaign, and dated September 2, 2026.
