Nigerian Air Force Opens Recruitment Registration Today

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) , will today, commence online registration for its Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 47/2026 recruitment exercise.

The announcement was made by the NAF on its official social media platform on Wednesday.

The recruitment exercise is for Airmen and Airwomen under two categories: Non-Tradesmen and Women, and Tradesmen and Women.

The NAF, however, clarified that the exercise does not apply to the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC), which is a separate entry route for graduate officers.

Prospective applicants have been advised to use only the official NAF recruitment portal for registration.

The force urged applicants to wait for the official guidelines for the BMTC 47/2026 exercise before submitting their applications, noting that eligibility requirements, available trades and other conditions may differ from previous recruitment exercises.

While previous BMTC recruitment exercises have generally required applicants to be Nigerian citizens by birth, single, medically and physically fit and without criminal convictions, prospective applicants are advised to confirm the specific requirements for BMTC 47/2026 when the official guidelines are released.

Applicants have also typically been required to possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).

For non-trades applicants, previous recruitment exercises generally required candidates to be between 18 and 22 years old and possess at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in relevant secondary school examinations.

Trades applicants have usually been required to possess additional qualifications, including a National Diploma, Nigeria Certificate in Education, trade test certificate or other recognised credentials, depending on the position.

Applicants will be required to complete their registration through the official portal and print all documents generated after submission.

The NAF has repeatedly warned prospective recruits against paying money to individuals claiming they can facilitate applications, secure shortlisting or guarantee recruitment.

The application process is free, and the force does not use agents or intermediaries for recruitment.

Applicants have therefore been advised to rely only on information published through the official NAF recruitment portal and the force’s official communication channels for updates on shortlisting, aptitude tests and interviews.

Prospective applicants are advised to carefully read the official BMTC 47/2026 guidelines once published and ensure that they meet all stipulated requirements before applying.
