No Verification, No Deployment, NYSC Warns Foreign-Trained Graduates

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has warned foreign-trained Nigerian graduates seeking to participate in the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I service year that they will not be deployed for national service without completing the mandatory physical verification of their credentials and travel documents.

The NYSC, in a notification issued to foreign-trained prospective corps members on Thursday, said the physical verification exercise would take place from Tuesday, September 9 to Saturday, September 12, 2026, across nine designated centres in the country.

The scheme, in a statement shared on its official Facebook page, said the exercise was for foreign-trained Nigerian prospective corps members whose credentials and travel documents were yet to be physically verified.

According to the NYSC, the exercise is part of measures to ensure that the credentials presented by foreign-trained graduates are properly authenticated before they are deployed, exempted or excluded from national service.

“Only persons physically seen with credentials, physically verified and cleared would be deployed, exempted or excluded from National Service,” it stated.

The designated centres are the NYSC Secretariat, 2 Abakaliki Road, GRA, Enugu, Enugu State; Shadawanka Military Barracks, Bauchi; NYSC Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja; Bukavu Military Barracks, Fagge, Airport Road, Kano; and the NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyanapaja, Lagos.

Others are the NYSC Secretariat, New Ikirun Road, Osogbo, Osun State; NYSC Secretariat, 40 Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State; Eagle Officers’ Mess, Giginya Cantonment, Gusau Road, Sokoto; and the NYSC Secretariat, Federal Secretariat Complex, Yola, Adamawa State.

The scheme urged prospective corps members to report strictly on the date, time and venue indicated on their verification slips, saying the arrangement was designed to ensure orderliness and prevent overcrowding at the centres.

NYSC also directed the prospective corps members to present all original credentials and travel documents uploaded, or expected to be uploaded, during the online registration process.

It added that medical graduates were required to upload their licences, registration certificates and other relevant documents issued by their respective professional regulatory bodies.

The Scheme further directed prospective corps members to submit the original copies of evaluation letters issued by the Federal Ministry of Education at the NYSC Headquarters, Abuja, warning that failure to comply with the physical verification requirements could prevent affected foreign-trained graduates from being deployed for the service year.
