Rivers APC Says It’s Unaware Of NWC’s Stance On Rainbow Coalition

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has said it is not aware of the statement credited to the national leadership of the party that it does not support any alliance with the Rainbow Coalition.

APC Secretary in the state, Hon. Chibike Ikenga, who disclosed this in a chat with LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt, said the state chapter had not received any letter communicating the party’s official decision on the coalition.

“If this is the position of the leadership of the party, through either the President or the national chairman, even the national secretary, they will write us formally or invite us officially. But, as we speak, APC nationally is aware of the Rainbow Coalition; it is done in the larger interest of the President.

“In particular, in our (Rivers) state here, that is our modest way of bringing every person together and enthroning inclusion.

And you know inclusiveness reduces crisis, conflicts and makes the work seamless.

“APC in Rivers State, we have taken that bold step of putting all the parties together, which is an amalgam of an association of parties or groups of parties that have come into a coalition called the Rainbow Coalition.

“That is where we stand even till tomorrow, till the national leadership of the party states otherwise. Whatever anybody has said, we are not aware of anything, but our position persists,” he said.
